Sheriff’s office raid finds drugs, guns

MIDDLESEX — Crack cocaine, meth, marijuana and firearms were seized during a recent raid on a rural Nash County home, authorities have announced.

Deputies with the Nash County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit and Patrol Division Platoon A executed a search warrant Dec. 18 due to numerous narcotic complaints at 10547 Baldy Hill Road north of Middlesex, said Chief Deputy Brandon Medina.

“A search of the residence revealed 17.4 grams of crack cocaine packaged for sale, 3.5 grams of. methamphetamine, 21 grams of marijuana packaged for sale, a Harrington and Richardson single-barrel shotgun, and a Thompson Center .50-caliber rifle was located,” Medina said.

Three subjects were located inside of the home and arrested: Donald Dunston, 56; Sandra Parker Lynch, 41; and Joseph Darnell Lee, 48.

Dunston is a convicted felon and not allowed to possess any firearms. He was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Lynch and Lee received the same charges minus the firearms count.

Dunston received a $50,000 secured bond. Lynch and Lee were given a $30,000 bond each.

Dunston and Lynch posted bail via the services of a bondsman. Lee remained in the Nash County Detention Center.
