NASHVILLE — The Nash County Sheriff’s Office is looking for detention officers to work in the county’s detention center.

“We are currently accepting applications and conducting interviews for detention officer positions,” Chief Deputy Brandon Medina announced in a press release last week.

Salary for the detention officer position starts at $33,877 annually and increases to $35,571 after successful completion of a 9-month probationary period.

A flyer distributed by the sheriff’s office promises competitive benefits for the job including health, dental and life insurance; Local Government Employees and state 401(k) retirement programs; credit union participation availability; paid holidays; short term disability; and tuition reimbursement.
